My 9th Birthday by Hannan

MY 9th BIRTHDAY

On 24th May was my birthday. On that day, I turned 9 years old. I brought my birthday cake to school. It was a chocolate cake with strawberries on it. I gave each of my friends a party pack. In the party pack I put a small lace butterfly, a chocolate and Barbie Stickers.

My bestfriend Raja, gave me a beautiful heart-shaped necklace. Hana gave me a cat-shaped eraser. Everybody loved my party pack because they can stick the butterfly on their pencils.

My friends sang Happy Birthday when I cut the cake. I was very happy. I will never forget that day.

SPIDERMAN 3 a review by YUSUF

SPIDERMAN 3

Once upon a time, Spiderman was fighting Venom. Then Sandman attacked the whole city and crushed many buildings. Everyone in the city ran away. Spiderman was later caught by Venom. Venom used his web to catch Spiderman. The web was very strong. After that Sandman hit Spiderman with his huge fist. The people in the city said “This is the end for Spiderman.

Then Harry came. He was Spiderman’s friend. He was the New Goblin. Harry attacked Sandman and Venom using his special gadgets. Harry hurt Sandman with his bombs. At the same time, Venom heard very loud sounds. He could not stand it and became angry. He then became bigger, bigger and bigger and Spiderman then threw a bomb at Venom. Venom died. After that Sandman apologized to Spiderman for killing Uncle Ben. He then became a sandstorm and disappeared. The End.

MY REVIEW :
I love the movie because there were lots of creatures in it. Just like Spiderman said “Where do these creatures come from?”.

LUQMAN - I don't have the keys

Being the youngest is certainly a great thing. Especially when you have big brothers and sisters to help look after you. I’ll be 6 months in a few days and have just started eating solids. On a recent trip to MPH, mama bought this new recipe book for babies. It’s called “Healthy Baby Meal Planner”. I can’t wait for her to try the new recipes coz the pictures sure look yummy!

It was funny the first time around when my mama fed me. I didn’t know what to do with the gooey stuff she kept feeding me. It just seemed to drip out of the corners of my mouth. But after about 2 weeks, it got better. At first it was just 2 tablespoons, but now I can eat about 6 to 7 tablespoons every meal . Not bad huh! I overheard mama telling ayah that soon I’ll be able to drive his MB.

UMAR and his world of tractors

A wee boy of 3, that’s who I am,
Loves watching tractors and the odd tram,
A big rig, a tanker or heavy transporters,
Where do they come from? I often do wonder.
The bright yellow trailers with their heavy loads,
Zooming pass by me like Kings of the roads,
And when they go off to their next destinations,
I often exclaim “These are God’s best creations!”

Here is Umar at home, sitting on his highchair and observing an excavator removing old pipes.

HANNAN the flower girl

Hello everyone. I’m Hannan and I’m 9 years old. Last month I took part in the Action Songs Competition. It is singing songs in English accompanied by actions. We wore costumes when performing. There were 15 of us. I got to be the dancing girl as well as the flower girl. We sang many songs; Morning Has Broken, Sunday Morning, Raindrops keep Falling On My Head, You Are My Sunshine and So Long Farewell.

At first we went to SK Bukit Rimau for the District Level Competition. After winning the district level, we went to Lembah Beringin for the State Level Competition. We went there by bus. I had a good time on the bus with my friends. On the bus we ate our breakfast, played games and even put on our make-up. Guess what? We won the State Level Competition too! Now I’m waiting to go for the National Level Competition on the 22 July at Kuantan. My friends and I are soooo excited! I hope we will win the next round and become Action Songs National Champions!!!

YUSUF the taekwondo master wannabe

Hi! I’m Yusuf. I’m 8 years old. I’m a boy who loves Taekwondo. Every Sunday morning I go to school where I have my class. There are about 40 students and 3 instructors. My chief instructor is Sir Edwin. The others are Miss Annie and another one I can’t remember her name.

Taekwondo teaches us 5 things.
a) Respect
b) Humility
c) Perseverance
d) Self-control
e) Honesty

In the beginning I was a white belter. After I passed my exam, I got my yellow belt. At my class they teach me horse riding stance, forward stance, high kicking, upper block, middle section block and lower block. Today I learn Teguek 1 by numbers. I learn it because I am now a yellow belter. I also learned knife hand strike and elbow strike today.

WHEN I LEARN TAEKWONDO, I LEARN THESE WORDS:
1. Sabumnim : instructor
2. Dobuk : the taekwondo uniform
3. Chul sa : line up
4. Doe rha : turn towards your instructor
5. Kyung yet : bow
6. An jo : sit down
